Who writes this
I'm Sarah Lee. I founded Idunia, and I write the research pieces here.
What I do
I take a study on fueling for female athletes and read the whole thing, not just the abstract. Then I write up what it actually found. Who was studied, how they measured it, and honestly, how much we can trust the result. The reading is the part I'm good at. I take studies seriously, and I try to represent them honestly, limits and all. And I show my work. Every number links back to the study it came from, and how I do the reading is spelled out in the open. You never have to take my word for it.
Why I care
I train, and I've had an eating disorder. I recovered. Somewhere in there I learned how much clear information about food and fueling matters, and how rarely you find it. I prioritize my own nutrition every day, and I care about getting it right.
My background is in clinical research. For years, reading dense study documents was the job, and so was turning them into something a real person could actually follow. That's the skill I use here, pointed at the research on fueling for women who train.
The credentials I do not hold
I am not a dietitian, a nutritionist, or a nutrition counselor, and I hold no clinical or exercise-science qualification. I do not hold myself out to be any of these. Nothing on this site is individualized advice or medical nutrition therapy. For guidance about your own body, see a clinician who knows your history.
Why this site exists
I own Idunia, a paid app for female athletes, and part of why this site exists is to bring people to it. That doesn't buy much, though: no article is locked behind the app, I don't take supplement sponsorships, and there are no affiliate links. I won't pretend to be a neutral outsider. I'm not one.
